PICKLEBALL FOR PAWS: Serving Up Support for SPCA
Join the Annapolis Pickleball Club (APC) for our 5th Annual Pickleball Tournament to benefit the SPCA, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humane care and adoption services for homeless animals. A portion of the proceeds will support this important cause.
REGISTRATION FEES (Early-Bird thru MAY 31st)
- $50 Early-Bird thru MAY 31 (plus $5- $15 event fee)
- $60 Committed Competitor JUNE 1- JULY 31 (plus $5- $15 event fee)
- $70 Procrastinating Pro AUGUST 1- SEPTEMBER 1 (plus $5- $15 event fee)
TOURNAMENT BRACKETS:
- DUPR 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+
- AGE 18+, 45+, 60+
A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player (or higher).
A team must play in the appropriate age bracket of the team’s youngest player.
As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to modify bracket formats, combine or split brackets, etc. as needed. If brackets are combined, medals will be awarded based on the original division.
SCHEDULE*:
FRIDAY: Singles 12:30-5:00pm (Start times will be posted and emailed Tuesday or Wednesday prior.)
SATURDAY: Gender Doubles 8:00am-5:00pm (Start times will be posted and emailed Tuesday or Wednesday prior.)
SUNDAY: Mixed Doubles 9:00am-5:00 pm (Start times will be posted and emailed Tuesday or Wednesday prior.)
*Start times may change based on the the number of registrations in each brackets.
ROUND ROBIN FORMAT:
Each team/player competes against all others in their bracket.
Larger divisions will have randomly seeded pools.
Standings are determined by total wins.
Tie-breakers:
1. Head-to-head results.
2. Point differential (if still tied).
Winners are declared by standings or move to playoffs.

RULES:
- We utilize DUPR as well as our own personal knowledge of players if applicable. It's not perfect, but it's our best defense against sandbagging.
- While not a USAP Sanctioned Tournament we will be following USAP rules.
- Paddles must be on the USAP or UAP approved list.
- Bring your phone! You will be entering your own scores on your phone via the pickleball den website. The software will then update automatically for seeding, opponents, and court assignments.
- There will be a volunteer acting rules official but we encourage you to settle all rules disputes on courts between the two teams competing (this is a fundraiser tournament after all).
PARTNERS:
- Each player needs to register separately.
- You may register and identify your partner, or request "Need partner"
- Both partners must be registered within 7 days of each other to ensure you're not moved to the wait list.
TOURNAMENT DAY INFORMATION:
- On each day of the tournament, please arrive thirty minutes before the start of your bracket.
- You will be provided with a check-in code upon your arrival.
- Please note, time, format and other changes are at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
- Brackets may be consolidated or expanded for court availability, venue modifications, or unforeseen incidents.
- Players will be notified by email of any changes.

- Please note our refund policy. When you sign up for the tournament, you agree to the refund policy which is provided in detail.
